Flow Jamaica
Columbus Communications Jamaica Ltd. is wholly-owned by Columbus. It markets its broadband triple play (cable‚ internet and telephony) under the brand name Flow. Flow is the only company in Jamaica providing true broadband triple play.
When Flow launched in Jamaican in 2006, the market was extremely fragmented with some 52 existing cable television operators, none of which were offering triple play services to consumers. Since that time, Flow has embarked on an aggressive network construction capital program‚ building fiber nodes across the entire country, providing customers with digital television‚ high–speed internet and telephony services…investing more than US$250 million to date.
A new fully digital video head end was constructed in November 2006‚ providing Flow customers access to more than 300 video and audio channels‚ by far the most comprehensive television service in Jamaica. Today, Flow offers a robust digital TV product that includes video on demand, the largest offering of HD channels, digital video recorders and digital music services. In addition, Flow offers residential broadband internet packages ranging from a low of 12 Mbps up to a blazing 100 Mbps and bundles these services with innovative and economical digital landline telephony service. In partnership with its sister company, Columbus Business Solutions, Jamaica businesses now have access to a broad range of corporate data services including telephony, data storage, disaster recovery, IP services, hosting and business continuity services.
Today, Flow is the leading cable television provider in Jamaica and since commencing operations as a greenfield start up, Columbus has grown its customer base to over 160‚000 video, internet and voice subscribers. At the same time, Flow has become a major employer in the country, boasting a team of some 560 telecom professionals.
